6 September 2017 – The European Magazine Media Association (EMMA) and the European Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) organised the Future Media Lounge event on Tuesday, 5 September at the Renaissance Hotel, Brussels. This edition examined how the proposed e-Privacy regulation places severe limitations on the digital advertising business model used by online publishers across Europe to generate revenue. Such restrictions could limit the freedom, independence and diversity of the press across Europe as well as the open access consumers’ currently have to journalistic content online.

EDAA was officially launched on 12 October at the Press Club Brussels. The launch provided an opportunity for key stakeholders in the European digital advertising community to announce the EDAA’s role in the self-regulatory programme for Online Behavioural Advertising. Speaking at the event, Robert Madelin, Director General for DG CONNECT at the European Commission highlighted the value of self-regulation in this field and praised companies who were engaged in the programme.
12 October 2012, release of Request for Proposals
EDAA is requesting proposals for Certification Providers. A key role of providers, once approved by EDAA, will be to perform independent assessment of company compliance with the EU initiative. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2012.
