24 MAY 2013, EDAA Wins IAB Europe’s Initiative of the Year Award
The European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance was presented with the IAB Europe’s Initiative of the Year award last night during the Interact Congress in Barcelona. The award recognises the groundbreaking work that the EDAA has been doing together with EASA’s industry and self-regulatory organisation (SRO) members in contributing to producing a credible and accountable self-regulatory programme on OBA across all EU and EEA markets.
EDAA was officially launched on 12 October at the Press Club Brussels. The launch provided an opportunity for key stakeholders in the European digital advertising community to announce the EDAA’s role in the self-regulatory programme for Online Behavioural Advertising. Speaking at the event, Robert Madelin, Director General for DG CONNECT at the European Commission highlighted the value of self-regulation in this field and praised companies who were engaged in the programme.
EDAA is requesting proposals for Certification Providers. A key role of providers, once approved by EDAA, will be to perform independent assessment of company compliance with the EU initiative. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2012.
