Chair of Media Agencies’ Council, EACA, and Project Leader for OBA Awareness Campaign, EDAA
The EDAA appointed Jon as the ideal partner to help drive forward the OBA Consumer Awareness project across Europe, due to his experience and track record as a highly effective leader in the communications industry.
For over 15 years, Jon has held various leadership roles at major global media agencies, working with some of the world’s biggest multi-national organisations and marketeers. Most recently (2004-2011), he was Managing Director of ZenithOptimedia’s WW Client division – leading the agency to its most lucrative, sustained phase of business growth and Awards success.
In 2011, Jon became the Founder and CEO of Velvet Rock Group, in order to focus on helping talented, independent businesses (within high growth sectors of the communications industry – e.g. mobile, digital, data, experiential and technology) to improve their short-term growth and profitability, whilst also driving their longer-term value. He is also actively involved as an NED at Odyssey Mobile, an Executive Board Director for the EACA (European Association of Communications Agencies), Chairman of the EACA’S European Media Agencies Group, and is a frequent speaker, panelist and moderator at relevant industry events. In addition, Jon regularly advises the EU Commission on specific projects in Brussels.
